Steps to Split Single PST File:
Follow the underneath steps to split single PST file:
- Launch the application 'Stellar Phoenix PST File Splitter'.
- On the main-interface, click 'Split Single File' option.
- Click 'Select PST File' button to browse to the PST file from known destination. In case, the location is unknown, select 'Find PST File' option to search PST file that needs to be split.
- Click 'Change Destination' button to provide a new location to save the files.
- Click 'Split PST File' button and select the bases ('By Date', 'By Size', 'By Mail ID', or 'Select & Split') on which the file needs to be split.
- Provide a safe destination to store the application log report. The files will be stored at defined location.
Steps to Split Multiple PST Files:
Follow the below mentioned steps to split multiple PST files:
- Launch the application 'Stellar Phoenix PST File Splitter'.
- On the main-interface, click 'Split Multiple Files' option.
- Select the criteria ('Split by Time' or 'Split by Size') on which you want to split the PST files.
- Click 'Select Folder' in case you want to split PST files saved in a single folder. However, in case the files are saved at multiple locations, you will need to click 'Select Files' option or choose an existing batch file using 'Select Batch File' option.
- Provide the split criteria and a safe location to save the PST files.
- Lastly, provide a secure destination to save the log file. The PST files will be saved at the defined location.
How to create a Batch File?
Follow the underneath steps to create required batch file:
- Click Start, and select Notepad to open a new text file.
- To create a time-defined batch file, follow the below format:
- Root location of first file;Destination location of first file;Start date of first file (in MM/DD/YYYY format);End date of first file (in MM/DD/YYYY format);Root location of second file;and so on...
- To create a size-defined batch file, follow the underneath format:
- Root location of first file;Destination location of first file;Size value of first file (in MB, acceptable values: 200, 300, 400,.....2000, no fractions accepted)
Note: Ensure that the parameters are separated by semi-colons and there is no space between them.
- Provide a valid name to the file and save it at required location.
Screen shot explanation to split Multiple PST files:
1. Download the corporate version of the software and select 'Split Multiple Files' option on the welcome screen.

2. Now select your split criteria – 'Split by Time' or 'Split by Size'.

3. In case, you select 'Split By Time' option, then you will encounter below screen:

4. In case of PST files saved at different locations, enter the PST file path, destination path, start date, end date, and then click on 'Add PST File' button.

5. In case PST files are saved in a specific folder, enter the PST file path, size, and then click on 'Add PST File' button.

6. In case, you select 'Split By Size' option, then the below screen appears:
